Meet the artist behind Turn 2 Art

Hello, I’m Wendy. From my studio in Dorset, I create detailed, bespoke pet portraits and wildlife art for animal lovers all across the UK.

My journey back to the drawing board began during lockdown. Like many, I was looking for something meaningful to occupy those long days, and I ended up rediscovering a creative talent I hadn't touched since my Art "O" Level days.

Art truly runs in my blood. Both my Nan and my Great Grandmother were talented artists later in life. My Nan was always entering local exhibitions and art competitions, performing incredibly well, and her passion deeply inspired my own.

Turning Passion into a Profession

Earlier this year, in 2026, I decided to take a leap of faith. After losing my mum last year, I had a profound realization of just how important it is to follow what makes you happiest. I left full-time employment to pursue my art completely, turning my deep love for animals into a full-time career.

Working primarily with pastel pencils, I focus on capturing the true character, warmth, and unique personality of every animal I draw. There is immense fulfillment in creating a timeless memory of a beloved pet that a family will treasure forever.

Looking to the Future: Pastel Pencil Workshops

Thank you so much for taking the time to explore my website and view my work. If you would like to commission a special piece of custom artwork, please don't hesitate to get in touch—I would love to create something beautiful for you.

Looking ahead, I am also planning to launch local pastel pencil workshops here in Dorset. I firmly believe that everyone has a spark of creativity inside them. My goal is to nurture those hidden skills and talents, helping you find a relaxing, rewarding hobby to enjoy in your spare time.

With love,
Wendy x
